As a Swim Instructor at Western Ymca Wahoos, you will have the opportunity to lead swimming programs and offer personalized individual and group lessons to children of different ages and proficiency levels. This position is perfect for students from who possess a genuine enthusiasm for swimming, exceptional communication abilities, and the talent to motivate young swimmers while teaching them to appreciate and respect the water. Currently, we are seeking a dedicated and driven Swim Instructor to join our team and contribute to our Western Ymca Wahoos in Newark, DE.

Responsibilities
• Provide swim instruction to students of all ages and skills
• Ensure a safe and encouraging learning environment for all students
• Monitor and evaluate student progress, offering feedback and support as necessary

Requirements
• Experience working with students of various ages and skill levels, preferably in an educational or instructional setting
• Strong swimming abilities and knowledge of different strokes and techniques
• Proficient in water safety and survival skills
• CPR & First Aid Certified (infant, child & adult)
• Excellent communication, organization, time management, and innovative teaching skills
• Effective behavior management skills to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally
• Experience in childcare or sports coaching is advantageous, demonstrating an understanding of working with children in structured environments
• A love for swimming and children, with a passion for both aspects.
