As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfort in and around open water with knowledge of safety considerations
Proficiency in deep water with the ability to use watercraft (Surfboard, paddleboard, kayak)
Successful completion of lifeguard prerequisite exam (550-meter open water swim, 2-minute tread water without hands, etc.)
Previous experience working with or teaching children preferred
Preference for Red Cross Certification or WSI certification, but not required
Must be 18 years of age or older
