As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfortable in and around open water with basic knowledge of safety considerations
Able to work in deep water and use watercraft like surfboards, paddleboards, and kayaks
Pass lifeguard prerequisite exam, including a 550-meter open water swim and treading water for 2 minutes without hands
Experience working with or teaching children is a plus
Red Cross certification or WSI certification preferred but not required
Must be at least 18 years old
