As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfortable in and around open water and knowledgeable about safety considerations
Proficient in deep water and basic watercraft use (surfboard, paddleboard, kayak)
Able to pass lifeguard prerequisite exam (550-meter open water swim, 2-minute tread water without hands, etc.)
Preferably have experience working with or teaching children
Red Cross or WSI certification preferred but not required
Must be 18 years old +
