As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfortable in and around open water with knowledge of safety considerations
Ability to navigate deep water and use watercraft such as surfboards, paddleboards, and kayaks
Pass lifeguard prerequisite exam including a 550-meter open water swim and treading water for 2 minutes without using your hands
Experience working with or teaching children is preferred
Red Cross Certification or WSI certification is a plus but not required
Must be 18 years of age or older
