As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfortable in and around open water with basic knowledge of safety considerations
Ability to paddleboard, kayak, or use a surfboard in deep water
Pass lifeguard prerequisite exam, including a 550-meter open water swim and treading water without hands for 2 minutes
Experience working with children or teaching is preferred
Red Cross Certification or WSI certification is a plus, but not required
Must be 18 years of age or older
