As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfortable in and around open water with knowledge of safety considerations
Basic ability to use watercraft (Surfboard, paddleboard, kayak) and comfortable in deep water
Ability to pass lifeguard prerequisite exam, such as a 550-meter open water swim and treading water for 2 minutes without hands
Preferably have experience working with or teaching children
Red Cross Certification or WSI certification is a plus but not required
Must be 18 years of age
