As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfort in and around open water with basic safety knowledge
Ability to navigate deep water and use watercraft (e.g. surfboard, paddleboard, kayak)
Successful completion of lifeguard prerequisite exam (e.g. 550-meter open water swim, 2-minute tread water without hands)
Experience with children or teaching is a plus
Red Cross or WSI certification preferred but not required
Must be 18 years or older
