As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
• Comfortable in and around open water, with a basic understanding of safety considerations
• Comfortable in deep water, with the ability to use watercraft like surfboards, paddleboards, or kayaks
• Able to pass the lifeguard prerequisite exam, including a 550-meter open water swim and treading water for 2 minutes without using hands
• Preferably have experience working with or teaching children
• Red Cross Certification or WSI certification is preferred but not required
• Must be 18 years of age or older
