As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
• Comfortable in and around open water with knowledge of safety considerations
• Proficient in deep water with ability to use watercraft like surfboards, paddleboards, and kayaks
• Ability to pass lifeguard prerequisite exam, including a 550-meter open water swim and treading water for 2 minutes without the use of hands
• Experience working with or teaching children is preferred
• Red Cross Certification or WSI certification is preferred but not essential
• Must be at least 18 years of age
