As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfortable in and around open water with basic knowledge of safety considerations
Comfortable in deep water and able to use watercraft (surfboard, paddleboard, kayak)
Ability to pass lifeguard prerequisite exam, including an open water swim and treading water test
Experience working with or teaching children is preferred
Red Cross Certification or WSI certification is a plus but not required
Must be 18 years of age or older
