As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfortable in and around open water with knowledge of safety considerations
Comfortable in deep water and basic ability to use watercraft like Surfboard, paddleboard, kayak
Ability to pass lifeguard prerequisite exam (550-meter open water swim, tread water without hands for 2 minutes, etc.)
Experience working with or teaching children is preferred
Red Cross Certification or WSI certification is preferred but not required
Must be 18 years of age or older
