As a lifeguard, you'll have the important responsibility of ensuring the safety of our members and guests. students hired by Arlington County Parks & Recreation can enjoy competitive pay and a summer full of fun. As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
• Comfortable in and around open water with knowledge of safety precautions
• Able to work in deep water and use watercraft like surfboards, paddleboards, and kayaks
• Pass lifeguard prerequisite exam, including a 550-meter open water swim and treading water without using hands for 2 minutes
• Experience working with or teaching children is preferred
• Red Cross or WSI certification preferred but not required
• Must be 18 years or older
