As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfort in and around open water with basic safety considerations knowledge
Comfort in deep water and basic watercraft use ability (Surfboard, paddleboard, kayak)
Successful completion of lifeguard prerequisite exam (550-meter open water swim, 2-minute tread water without using hands, etc.)
Experience working with or teaching children is a plus
Preferred certifications include Red Cross Certification or WSI certification, but not required
Must be 18 years of age or older
