As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfort in and around open water with knowledge of safety considerations
Ability to work comfortably in deep water and use watercraft like a surfboard, paddleboard, or kayak
Passing the lifeguard prerequisite exam, including a 550-meter open water swim and treading water without hands for 2 minutes
Preferred experience working with or teaching children
Preferred Red Cross Certification or WSI certification, but not required
Must be 18 years or older
