Younger Toddler Lead Teacher

As a Lead Teacher you will create a fun, safe environment with a daily schedule designed to develop children’s confidence and independence. You will help guide these little ones through small group instruction as they grow their ability to absorb new content and understand increasingly complex information.

You will help guide these little ones through small group instruction as they grow their ability to absorb new content and understand increasingly complex information.
Primary responsibilities:
- Plan the weekly curriculum and activities
- Develop genuine relationships with each child and families
- Help children learn about language and literacy, life skills, and more.
- Work with your assistant teacher and/or aide to implement the lesson plan.
- Maintain a well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
- Discover what works best for each child as you teach them about the world around them.
- Work with your assistant teacher and/or helper to maintain teacher/child ratios.
- Communicate with families about the important updates, and classroom activities.
- Maintain the physical appearance, health, safety, and well-being of the children and their environment.
- Additional duties as needed.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a teacher
- CDA, Associate degree, or higher in early childcare, child development, child psychology, or a related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to be able to lead a classroom
- Patient, kind, nurturing, and a genuine interest in working with young children.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, and actively engage with children throughout the day.
- CPR and First Aid certification is required or must be obtained within a specified period after employment.
