As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfortable in and around open water with knowledge of safety considerations
Proficient in deep water with ability to use watercraft (surfboard, paddleboard, kayak)
Able to pass lifeguard prerequisite exam, including open water swim and treading water without hands
Experience working with or teaching children is a plus
Red Cross or WSI certification preferred
Must be at least 18 years old
