Mounds Park Academy is a PreK-12 independent school in Saint Paul, MN that serves approximately 575 students from throughout the Twin Cities area. Since 1982, Mounds Park Academy has engaged students in a rigorous college preparatory experience that is demanding, but not draining, and goes far beyond memorization. Mounds Park Academy seeks a PreK Teacher to join our school for the 2024-2025 academic year. The PreK Teacher interacts with students, parents, the PreK Program and Admission Manager, and the Lower School Director. The PreK Teacher collaborates within a team to develop and implement learning plans and foster a developmentally, and culturally appropriate environment. This position reports to the Lower School Director and receives direction from the PreK Program and Admission Manager.

It is expected that a successful candidate would:

• Conduct ongoing assessment and documentation of children's progress.
• Participate in enrollment screenings and maintain program documentation.
• Communicate regularly with families about children's progress and classroom activities.
• Manage classroom supplies and communicate needs.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions.
• Collaborate with team on curriculum planning and implementation.
• Foster children's social-emotional development.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of facilities.
• Address concerns and feedback from families and staff.
• Adhere to licensing regulations and maintain confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education
• 2 years teaching experience in licensed center
• Understand the rationale and procedure for child abuse reporting as mandated by state law and the responsibility for action as a mandated reporter.

Preferred

• Experience in play-based/Reggio Emilia-inspired/project-based preschool.
