Job Description
Responsibilities:
Working closely with the GRSLA Board Chair, and under the guidance of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director exercises a considerable degree of independent judgment and initiative, within the framework provided by the bylaws, agency mission and the annual plan.
Essential Core Functions include:
· Parent Engagement, Community Engagement, Advocacy and Public Relations
· Agency Leadership and Staff Development
· Finance and Business Administration
· Development and Fundraising
Position Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
· Progressively responsible positions within a non-profit or business environment, ideally with a minimum 5-7 years’ experience, including a minimum of 3 years’ management experience.
· Experience in and with the early-childhood sector.
· Understanding of fiscal management practices.
· Experience in working with and in securing and administering public and private contracts and grants.
· Strategic planning experience in a non-profit setting.
· Proven success in all aspects of fundraising, especially in the areas of local grants, major gifts cultivation and solicitation.
· Outstanding verbal and written communications.
· Ability to develop and motivate people, creating a positive work environment.
· Composure under pressure.
. Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
