Job Summary
In-home Family Day Care in search of an assistant to help monitor and lead activities throughout the day. If you enjoy working with children and helping to provide a fun, safe and educational environment where you can make a difference, then this may be the position that you’ve been searching for. Help kids engage in play and games designed to promote analytical thinking skills and cooperation. Assist children in working with others to resolve conflicts and encourage cooperation. This position will help you develop excellent skills and techniques that can benefit you in both in your personal life and in future careers in child development.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead children in all daily activities, including play time, reading, art projects, and snack and lunch time.
- Teach children to follow rules regarding safety and cooperation to help foster a safer and more structured environment as well as bolster parent confidence.
- Assist children in learning to work together through a variety of interactive games and activities designed to encourage cooperation. Assist in successfully resolving conflicts as they arise.
- Help prepare meals and assist others on staff in handing out food and beverage items. Lead the children in the cleanup of trays, cups and the eating area after every meal.
- Assist provider with arranging special activities and field trips.
- Accompany Provider and children on outings.
- Participate in one-on-one sessions with parents involving a child’s behavior at the day, or when such a meeting is requested by the parents.
- Monitor and supervise children constantly.
- Change diapers, assist with potty training and prepare bottles as necessary.
Job Skills & Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Must be able to lift 30–40 lbs.
- Must be able to communicate with children, peers, and parents professionally.
- Coursework in early childhood education and child development is preferred but not required.
- CPR certification (must be completed within one week of hire date).
- Must complete fingerprinting & background check.
- Previous experience working with infant, toddlers, and pre-school aged children is preferred but not required.
We Offer:
- $500 Bonus after 90 days – based on evaluation.
- Pay increase after 90 days.
- Financial assistance for CDA certification and/or Early Childhood degree.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $15-$20 Hourly based on experience
COVID-19 considerations:
Staff may be required to wear masks and get regular testing.
