Job Description
Classification: Non-exempt
Salary: $55k+ Depending on Experience
Location: This position is open to fully remote or hybrid work in the Philadelphia and DC offices.
Summary:
This position focuses on editing, summarizing, and rewriting scientific descriptions for a non-scientific audience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Review client materials to determine how to present achievements to satisfy USCIS criteria
- Reviews samples of cases to learn filing presentation and structure
- Client communication under supervision of Editor or Attorney
- Assembling exhibits for Editor and/or Attorney review prior to filing
- Present technical ideas simply and without impairing meaning with supervisor input
- Ability to extract meaning from technical documents
- Conduct supplementary research based on client needs
- Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience under supervision of Editor/Attorney
- Observe and attend client case strategy calls and consultations
- Ensure technical verbiage is easy to understand by the layperson.
- Must be able to work within strict deadlines as cases are time sensitive
- Tracking case progress in document management system
- Management of time in billing system
Education, Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree with excellent academic credentials
- Interest in international/intercultural issues
- Must be able to provide a writing sample
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Ability to organize work flow and use time efficiently
- Ability to show strong attention to detail
- Ability to perform at high levels in a fast-paced ever-changing work environment and successfully adapt to changing priorities and work demands
- Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction, follow up on own initiative
- Flexibility to adapt to all situations and work varied hours; possibly work weekends or evening
- Knowledge of MS365 Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
