Medical Dispensary Manager (or Store Lead)

Job Summary:
The Dispensary Manager oversees all aspects of daily operations at the medical cannabis dispensary. This role involves ensuring compliance with state regulations, providing exceptional customer service, managing staff, and ensuring efficient, profitable operations. The Manager will also focus on creating a welcoming environment that promotes education and personalized service for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
- Supervise, train, and develop dispensary staff, including Budtenders, Assistant Managers, and Support Staff.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, encouraging teamwork and effective communication.
- Conduct regular team meetings and biweekly training sessions to ensure staff knowledge is current and consistent with store goals and policies.
- Manage scheduling, payroll, and performance evaluations to optimize staffing and encourage growth.
Customer Service Excellence:
- Ensure every customer has a positive, welcoming experience by setting high standards for customer service and professionalism.
- Handle complex customer interactions, complaints, and special requests.
- Build relationships with customers and create a strong customer base by promoting loyalty programs and personalized service.
Compliance & Security:
- Stay up-to-date on all state and local cannabis regulations and ensure dispensary operations remain compliant.
- Implement strict security protocols to protect the dispensary, staff, and customers.
- Conduct regular compliance audits and ensure accurate record-keeping for inventory and sales in accordance with state regulations.
Inventory Management & Product Knowledge:
- Oversee the management of inventory, including ordering, receiving, tracking, and reconciliation to minimize shrinkage and ensure adequate stock levels.
- Ensure all product displays are accurate, appealing, and well-stocked.
- Educate staff on new product offerings, product benefits, and inventory handling procedures.
Sales & Financial Performance:
- Meet or exceed monthly sales targets by implementing promotions and fostering excellent customer service.
- Track and analyze sales data to optimize product assortment and recommend adjustments.
- Monitor cash handling procedures to ensure accurate sales reporting and end-of-day balancing.
- Provide weekly sales and performance reports to the Regional Manager or Owner.
Operational Efficiency:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment within the store at all times.
- Implement efficient workflows and processes to enhance store productivity.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers to support store operations, ensuring adherence to brand standards.
Qualifications:
- Prior management experience in a retail, customer service, or medical cannabis environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of cannabis products, industry regulations, and state compliance requirements.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with point-of-sale (POS) systems and Microsoft Office or similar software.
- Must be at least 21 years old and eligible to obtain any necessary state licenses.
- Ability to pass a background check and meet all regulatory requirements.
