About Us:
Capital Yacht Club is an exclusive, members-only club known for its exceptional dining experience. We pride ourselves on providing a high level of service, quality, and attention to detail in everything we do. Our culinary team works together to create memorable dining experiences for our members, using the freshest ingredients and creative recipes. We are looking to expand our kitchen team by hiring a motivated and skilled Line Cook with prior experience.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate for The Capital Yacht Club will have at least one year of experience working in a professional kitchen and be capable of maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation. As a Line Cook, you will work alongside other kitchen staff to prepare, cook, and plate dishes in a timely manner, while ensuring cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, ensuring consistency and high quality.
  • Assist with food prep and ingredient organization as needed.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff, including prep cooks and sous chefs, to ensure efficient service.
  • Maintain proper food storage practices and ensure inventory levels are adequate for service.
  • Monitor food cooking times to ensure dishes are prepared to perfection and delivered promptly.
  • Assist with cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
  • Communicate effectively with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service.
  • Support the head chef in any additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or in a similar role in a professional kitchen.
  • Timely and efficient in completing tasks under pressure during service hours.
  • Detail-oriented with an eye for presentation and quality control.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to fast-paced kitchen environments.
  • Flexibility with shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Culinary degree or certification (optional, but preferred).
  • Experience working in a private club or fine dining setting is a plus.
  • Knowledge of specialized cooking techniques and equipment.
