I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from the University of Maryland College Park. My studies here concentrated in English, gender studies, public relations, and African American Studies. During this time I taught two undergraduate lectures: How Colonialism Caused Gender Stratification in the U.S. and The Harlem Renaissance: A Sanitation and Regression of Black Art. From there I went on to earn my certificate in music and social entrepreneurship from the DO School. In fall 2012, I lived in Germany for three months as a DO School Music Challenge Fellow. This position granted me the opportunity to facilitate a course in choral and dance with a multilingual and multi-ethnic group of young adults.
