This role is primarily onsite - therefore client is seeking local to Minneapolis area.
Client work authorization requirements: US Citizen or GC holder
Salary range: $60K to $65k + bonus
Travel: up to 15%
WHAT YOU'LL DO: You will have a direct and significant impact on the company's success by reducing Cost of Goods through negotiation with suppliers. You will oversee researching and identifying best products and suppliers, materials procurement, and price negotiation. This position also requires strong internal and external communication and influencing skills.
• Develop and maintain superior knowledge of the lighting, controls markets, relevant practices, and industry trends to enhance supplier negotiation strategies.
• Forecast price trends and their impact on future business.
• Conduct research to identify the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality.
• Communicate between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers.
• Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing contracts and monitor the quality of service provided.
• Prepare pricing quotes by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from technology department, as applicable.
• Manage supplier performance including quarterly vendor scorecards.
• Approve purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list; resolving any issues prior to PO approval; recommending alternatives.
EXPERIENCE:
• Material procurement and negotiations.
• Vendor management sourcing and negotiating.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Expertise in presenting and communicating with vendors.
• Strong problem-solving, financial management and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel used for tracking and analysis.
• Detail-orientated, high degree of accuracy and ability to multi-task.
• Four-year degree required in Business or related degree.
Preferred skills: lighting industry.
