Preventing Miscommunication in Virtual Work

About this Course

Communicating in a virtual environment, whether through email, video, or chat-based platforms, requires a unique set of skills. This course introduces concepts and strategies to develop skills and professionally manage your virtual presence. Using a decision tree for virtual communication, learn to choose the right mode of communication, engage in conversations both verbally and non-verbally, adjust your messaging to create collaboration over conflict, and formulate inclusive and thoughtful responses. Preventing miscommunication requires you to analyze your audience, situation, and self before communicating. You also need to develop the ability to adapt in response to your audience and situation. During this course, you will learn about, practice, and develop these analytical skills. The communication skills you learn about and begin to develop in this course are valuable to all members of the workforce who now have virtual components in their daily work life. The course is especially useful to those entering a professional environment for the first time, or those new to remote work.
