Pros: Tons of work, but she teaches you how to write well and to present well.
Cons: You will be sick of writing and researching after this class
She is tough, but she lets you rewrite anything for a better grade. A good grade in the class is a B.

Pros: Always gives many opportunities for revisions. She grades your paper and gives you an "as-if" grade and her revisions are specific. You have to go back and change things and resubmit it and that is your new grade. She also never gave us a test. Midterm and Finals were always presentations or papers.
Cons: Expects a lot out of the class.
Kathy was the most amazing teacher I have had at Virginia Tech. She is very personable with her classes and always comes off as a caring individual. She has a ton of experience in her field and loves to talk about the many careers she has had all over the world. She only wanted the best out of every student and was always there to give you an idea of how you were doing in the class. There were a lot of papers and homework assignments but if you give it your best effort there is no reason why you can't walk away with an A. If I could take every English course with her I would. She really knows what she is doing and she has a true passion for it.

Pros: She wants you to learn the material but will make it hard for you to get an A. Gives you another chance to write a paper and will usually give a 10-15 more points on it. If you take her class you will become a good writer.
Cons: Make you work hard. There is no specific way of grading.
Find an easier teacher if you can. If not then get ready to work hard.

Pros: Good teacher. She knows what she is doing.
You learn a lot.
Cons: Lots of work.
Hard Grader.
Good teacher, although a 'B' is a good grade in her class. But she allows multiple corrections to papers, for better grades.
