Position Title: Student Coordinator
Department: Vocational Nursing Program
Reports To: Director of Nursing & Director of Education
Employment Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Position Overview: The Student Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting the Vocational Nursing Program by providing administrative and student support services. This position involves working closely with students, graduates, faculty, and administration to ensure a smooth and supportive educational experience. The Student Coordinator will assist with job placement services, exam administration, student feedback collection, and other organizational tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain regular communication with recent graduates to assist them in their job search.
- Provide guidance on job applications, interview preparation, and networking strategies.
- Help graduates create, review, and improve resumes and cover letters.
- Establish and maintain relationships with healthcare employers to identify job opportunities for graduates.
- Assist students with the registration process for the NCLEX exam.
- Provide guidance on exam preparation resources and study strategies.
- Monitor and track student progress toward taking and passing the NCLEX.
- Administer and proctor exams, ensuring a fair and secure testing environment.
- Coordinate exam schedules and communicate them effectively to students and faculty.
- Monitor and track student attendance records.
- Communicate attendance issues to students and faculty as needed.
- Implement attendance policies and follow up with students regarding attendance concerns.
- Regularly reach out to current students to gather feedback on their educational experience.
- Monitor student progress and identify students who may need additional support or resources.
- Collaborate with faculty to address student concerns and enhance the overall student experience.
- Assist the Director of Nursing and the Director of Education with various managerial and organizational tasks.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress, attendance, and program outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a student services, administrative, or educational role is preferred. Experience in the healthcare or vocational education sector is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable with learning new software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
