K&L C.A.R.E. Instructional Aides work one on one with clients with autism or other pervasive developmental disorders in both their home and in the community in order to assist them with mastering independent living skills.
Each client has a team of instructional aides, headed by a supervisor, that helps clients reach their developmental goals. Clients' age range is from toddler to college adult.
Position is part time, but additional hours are available based on your availability. Opportunity for career growth is exceptional, as we only promote to Senior Instructional Aide and full-time Case Supervisor positions from within. Persons who have been Behavioral Specialists, Autism Technicians, BIIs (Behavior Intervention Implementation) or Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) would excel in this position; however, no clinical training is necessary as we conduct thorough training specific to this field of work.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Each instructional aide is assigned to several clients, and each client has a team of instructional aides headed by a case supervisor. Instructional aides are responsible for conducting sessions (working on the steps towards goal acquisition - for example, learning how to vacuum, or how to ride the bus, open a checking account, complete job applications, or learning how to iron) with their clients as scheduled on the calendar, collecting data to record progress, and communicating with the case supervisors. Case supervisors create individual programs for each client, and instructional aides implement the programs during each session.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid CA driver's license, car, and proof of insurance
- Afternoon and Saturday availability (Mon. - Fri. 3:30 pm - 8:30 pm, Sat. 9 am - 6 pm) - more hours are available if you are available for more hours
- Must pass criminal background check once hired
- Must have TB TEST and LIVESCAN once hired

PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA or BA Degree in Progress in education, psychology, counseling, nursing, social work, applied behavior analysis, behavioral medicine, speech and language or rehabilitation or related field.
- Prior experience working with children with autism or related disorder
- Bilingual
