As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
• Comfort in and around open water with basic understanding of safety considerations
• Comfort in deep water and basic ability to use watercraft (Surfboard, paddleboard, kayak)
• Ability to pass lifeguard prerequisite exam (550-meter open water swim, tread water without hands - 2 min, etc.)
• Experience working with or teaching children is preferred
• Red Cross Certification or WSI certification is a plus, but not required
• Must be 18+ years old
