Pros: Online course--interesting discussions
Great teacher feedback--she's always available and wants to help you succeed
Cons: Online course
There is way too much material assigned each week--inevitably you won't really read all the assigned readings
Too many projects
This shouldn't be an online course--it's already hard enough content wise, but explaining the complexity of ESL lesson plans online doesn't allow for enough corrective feedback.
The field work is fun though--I enjoy it.
Altogether there are way too many projects/paper and general "busy work" for this online course--it's the hardest of the TESOL/ESL endorsement classes and by far could use a makeover.

Pros: Gives lots of extra credit on quizzes and exams - you can literally make a 115 on a test
Very easy for heritage speakers
Very passionate about the Vietnamese language
Learn practical vocabulary and language as well as cultural lessons
Grades are very inflated
Cons: Lots of daily homework and heavy use of the textbook/workbook/audio drills. There's a test for every chapter.
Difficult for her to address the needs of every student, as we have both heritage speakers and completely new language learners; not her fault, just lack of an accelerated program
If you want to learn the language from scratch, it'll take a lot of work on your end
One research project on a topic of your choosing, so long as it is related to Vietnamese culture
