As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
• Comfortable in and around open water and knowledgeable about safety
• Comfortable in deep water and able to use watercraft like surfboards or kayaks
• Ability to pass lifeguard prerequisite exam, including an open water swim and treading water without hands
• Experience with children or teaching is preferred
• Red Cross or WSI certification preferred but not required
• Must be 18 years or older
