About Me: Ken Cole My journey with water safety began early on—I learned to swim at 4 and started my first lifeguard position at just 14, with my parents’ support. I’ll never forget my first rescue: I was off-duty, fully dressed in jeans, my new Jordans, and my phone in my pocket. Without a second thought, I jumped in to save a patron. That experience confirmed what I already knew—I’m passionate about keeping people safe in the water, and there’s nothing I wouldn’t do to help others enjoy it confidently. Not even my cell phone could stop me that day, and it’s a passion I carry into every lesson I teach. Teaching swimming is about more than just helping people learn strokes; it’s about watching them gain a new sense of confidence and comfort in the water. There’s no feeling like seeing the switch flip in a student’s eyes when they realize they’ve mastered something new. I live for those moments, and I’m here to guide each swimmer on their journey, age, or experience.
