Personal Statement

I began studying Japanese in high school, and studied abroad in Japan for six months in high school and one year during university. After receiving my M.A. in Japanese, I worked in a Japanese government office for 2 years as a translator/interpreter before returning Stateside. During the academic year, I work as a Japanese teacher for an online middle/high school, and I offer a small number of tutoring slots year-round. Some students come to me just for summer tutoring to hear a different perspective from their regular Japanese teacher in school.
