Personal Statement

I am a graduate of Yale University (B.A.) and the University of California (M.A.). I am an established composer and teacher in the San Francisco Bay Area; I taught a wide variety of subjects at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, until my retirement. My interests range from current work in electronic and instrumental music to late Medieval music, and everything in between! One student sent me a note after leaving for college; at the end he said `Please accept my sincere thanks for four wonderful years, from which I have learned what music is really like, and, more importantly, what a dedicated, sincere, patient teacher is like as well.`
