Wen Cheng is the best all around professor I have had so far at Cal Poly. He is the epitome of what a college professor should be: very knowledgeable, makes jokes to lighten the mood, gives helpful homework assignments, truly cares about the success of his students, is there when you need him, I could go on and on...TAKE HIM!

 Dr. Cheng is a very good professor. He knows the material and is able to convey it in such a was as ensure everyone understands. He actively calls on students to answer questions and helps facilitate learning the the classroom. I would recommend Professor Cheng any day.

 Dr. Cheng is of a rare breed. His amazing knowledge of his field coupled with the energy that comes with being in your early thirties makes him a very good teacher. His accent may be a little off-putting in the beginning, but you will learn to love this as well as his weird sense of humor. I highly recommend this teacher for lab or lecture. Grade Received: A

 Dr. Cheng is a great professor! The class had 8 assignments, 1 midterm, 1 final. The HW was very reasonable and took between 10-40min. He reviews and reteaches what will be on the tests the class befor so you know what will be on them. Cheng knows his stuff, makes himself accessible and makes it a point that he is here to help you. The only difficulty with the class is a bit of a language barrier, his accent is a little hard to understand at times and he didnt always understand what I was asking so I would have to rephrase. He loves people who sit in front and seem interested and answer questions. I would highley reccomend him! Grade Received: A-

 Dr. Cheng has a PhD in the material, so his knowledge is definitely as good as it gets. His lectures are very organized, he also puts everything online on blackboard. If you stop by his office to ask a question, he will remember you and remember any points you may have missed on homework. I went into his office to ask a question about vertical curves, and he sat me down and really helped me understand mass diagrams. That's how much he cares. If you do the homework and keep all of your notes organized, you should be able to get a good grade.

 Not sure as to what my grade is since I took the final today, but this is my first time writing a review on Gradecalpoly.com for one reason only, Dr. Cheng is one of the best professors I have had. Not only does he know the subject matter, and the conceps behind them, but he actually cares about his students learning. Literally sat with me one on one for almost an hour teaching me the concept of pavement design. It's such a relief to have professors like him, and Cal Poly did an amazing job hiring this guy. Another thing that showed how professional this guy man is, is that he memorized each students name and knew who everyone was. AMAZING TEACHER! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

 I think he is a fantastic professor in the department. This guy brings to the class lots of practical examples, most of which really opens your eyes and intensifies your understandings of various theories. This guy is easily accessible and his class is very organized. Best of all, he also shows lots of sample EIT/PE problem in the lecture. I just took the EIT, most of the transportation problems are either covered or stressed by him in the class. His midterm exam pretty much reflects all the materials he covered in the lecture. Anyway, if you want to learn in the class, take him!
