Pros: Very nice guy
Knows his subject matter very well and obviously cares about it
Gives a lot of real-world examples
Reading assignments - particularly the case studies - were helpful
His TA held review sessions before exams
Accent is easy to understand
Not difficult to receive good grade
Cons: Kind of monotonous and a little boring
Class sessions weren't very helpful
Dr. Becker is definitely one of the nicest professors I have ever had in a university setting, and is definitely a good fit for an "ethics" class. It's obvious from the way he teaches that he is very passionate about the subject.
However, I almost found the class sessions to be a waste of time. Becker talks somewhat quietly and doesn't come off as enthusiastic; as a result, he has a hard time maintaining my attention. Regardless, his exams only cover the powerpoint presentations used during his lectures, which are available online to all students.

Overall, I really liked the professor, even though the class seemed to be repetitive at times. Grade is based off of homework (comments on readings from the textbook, and online sources, throughout the semester), 2 exams, participation in class (i-clickers), and the final exam (which is an essay). There are a few extra credit opportunities, which really help boost your grade. Looking back, I actually feel like I learned important, life-applicable things in this class!
