Sous Chef Position Summary:

PROOF SPORTS BAR is seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team in Pittsburgh, PA. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in overseeing day-to-day culinary operations, assisting in menu development, and ensuring the highest quality ingredients and presentations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in culinary arts, a dedication to teamwork, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
• Coordinate food and kitchenware orders, ensuring proper inventory levels and minimizing waste.
• Check the freshness and quality of ingredients, adhering to food safety standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef and management to develop new menu items, keeping up with current trends and guest preferences.
• Standardize recipes and plate presentations to maintain consistency and quality across all dishes.
• Lead and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and cohesive team environment.
• Work closely with management to create a memorable dining experience for guests, responding promptly to feedback and implementing improvements.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in culinary arts, cooking, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of cost and labor systems and their impact on the overall business.
• Demonstrated passion for food and proficiency in various cooking techniques.
• Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, able to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, including nights and weekends.
• Certification in food safety and sanitation is a plus.

Compensation & Employment Type:

• Hourly pay ranging from $17 to $21, based on experience and qualifications.
• Option to be classified as a 1099 contractor or W2 employee, depending on your preference.
