BGT, Inc. is a multi-unit franchisee with over 80 stores across various quick service restaurant franchises. We are based in Southern California and are currently seeking a Junior Accountant to support the finance and accounting department. This position will perform daily tasks that ensure accurate financial records and smooth operations. Here's an overview of the typical responsibilities and qualifications for a junior accounting role:

Key Responsibilities
Transaction Processing:
Record financial transactions, including journal entries, invoice processing, and data entry into accounting systems.

Reconciliations:
Assist with reconciling bank statements, credit card accounts, and other financial records to ensure accuracy.

Accounts Payable/Receivable:
Process vendor invoices, prepare payments, track incoming payments, and manage account balances.

Financial Reporting:
Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, assisting in variance analysis and reporting discrepancies.

General Ledger Maintenance:
Help maintain the general ledger, ensuring that all financial data is accurately recorded and updated.

Assistance with Audits and Tax Preparation:
Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits, and assist in the preparation of tax documents.

Administrative Support:
Handle various administrative tasks as needed, such as filing, organizing documents, and updating financial records.

Required Qualifications and Skills
Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field or will receive this degree in June 2025

Technical Proficiency:
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar systems) and strong Microsoft Excel skills.

Attention to Detail:
A keen eye for accuracy and a methodical approach to handling financial data.

Analytical Skills:
Ability to analyze figures and reconcile discrepancies in financial records.

Communication:
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Experience:
Previous internship or entry-level experience in accounting is beneficial but not always required.

Salary
50 K to 80 K depending on experience
