Professor Mark Meretzky's Unix class was one of the best college-level classes I've ever taken. He was funny, fast, and smart. His lessons and homework were extremely well-designed. I learned a tremendous amount not only about Unix per se but about programming and algorithmic problem-solving generally. He gave timely and helpful feedback. A real gem. | |
I took Mark Meretzky class in spring of 2011. Before I took his class I read his reviews ...I said to myself he can't be that condesending. Boy was I wrong. NYU SCPS is a great program. Stay away from Mark Meretzky. He is horrible. He never returns homeworks, he won;t answer students questions he goes off talking about movies and noting about coding. Mark is the type of guy you you go to if you need to just hear some noise. NYU is helpless they can't replace him becasue they are lazy or just don't care. If you take any of Mark's classes you will regreate it. The only person who should take Mark's class is a person with 20 years of programming background and you are not there to learn. If your goal is to learn I beg you in the name of Jesus stay clear of Mark. If you don't you will live to regreat it. He is the king of rambling. |
