As part of the Principles of Manufacturing MicroMasters program, this course aims to provide exposure to key principles and practices used in engineering management. Learners are given opportunities to apply basic functional business knowledge from 2.961.1xthrough the analysis of case studies. The focus is on the application of individual skills and management tools required for the management of innovation. Managerial ability is an important element of technology companies in an increasingly global and diverse business environment. This course provides an overview of management issues for graduate engineers. Topics are approached in terms of career options as an engineering practitioner, manager, and entrepreneur. Through selected readings from texts and cases, the focus is on the development of individual skills and management tools.
