Bond and Equity Markets and Financial Regulation

About this Course

This course begins with a look at the role debt and equity plays in a firm's capital structure. We'll look at the main issuers of bonds and the different types of bonds they issue and review the difference between domestic and international bonds. We'll also review how to price a plain vanilla bond for the current market place. Further, in the course, we'll look at the different yield curve shapes and review their implications for the economy and business cycle. We'll also look at the primary and secondary markets and review the mechanics of treasury auctions. This course will also cover the functions of rating agencies and the methodology they use along with a look at the trading conventions used by FX markets for both spot and forward transaction. We'll wrap up this course with a look at the key regulators of the financial markets. This course is part 2 of the New York Institute of Finance's Capital Markets Professional Certificate.
