As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
• Comfortable in and around open water with knowledge of safety considerations
• Able to work in deep water and operate watercraft such as a surfboard, paddleboard, or kayak
• Ability to pass lifeguard prerequisite exam including a 550-meter open water swim and treading water for 2 minutes without hands
• Experience working with or teaching children is preferred
• Red Cross Certification or WSI certification preferred but not required
• Must be 18 years or older
