Personal Statement

I earned my bachelor's degree in English and Philosophy from Rice University. As a tutor, I primarily focus on English literature and writing, logic, Latin, and philosophy. My earliest teaching experiences began as a peer tutor in middle school, where I helped students review classwork and finish homework. I know how to help students prepare for a variety of standardized tests, such as the SSAT, SAT, ACT, ISEE, and many others. In addition, I can work with ESL students to improve their speaking skills. I am able to work with students in public speaking, creative writing, philosophical ethics, and many other areas.
