Pros: none really
Cons: The class is so boring, basically impossible to pay attention for 2 hours. Still trying to understand how this class is anywhere near relevant for this major. Pulls name cards at random for attendance or else I wouldn't go

Seriously, this guy will NEVER give you a straight answer if you ask a question. He's really kept himself in a job by coining stupid words like "impacts" vs "effects". Had I known that his old exams were basically carbon copies to the present exams, i would have 4.0 so easily. But since I had integrity before this class started, I didn't seek it out. My mistake. I got a 67 on the first exam after studying for 3 hours or more, while everyone who had an old exam to look at aced it with 20 minutes of studying. with a copy of the second exam i got a 91. SERIOUSLY?!
The lectures put me to sleep everyday. The material had some potential to be interesting but it was relayed in the most dry way possible. I wouldn't reccommend it, but if you want a mind-numbing 4.0 class, MAKE SURE you get the old exams from somewhere. otherwise you are doomed

Pros: None
Cons: VERY difficult to listen to for 1hr and 50 mins. He constantly goes off topic and will deliver information that contradicts his exams. He is also a terrible exam writer.

Pros: He really knows what he's talking about and he has a lot of experience in the FW field. He has interesting stories sometimes and some of the guest speakers are pretty interesting as well
Cons: Some of the material can be a bit boring at times
Just go to class, take notes, do all of the minute papers, look over your notes before the exam and you should be fine. The minute papers are easy points so make sure to do them. They tend to be based on things from lecture so if you don't go you may have trouble with them. His exams are pretty fair and not too difficult if you pay attention/take notes in class. He even eliminates any problems that more than 50% of the class gets wrong.

Pros: Very helpful talking one on one
Interesting stories
Very fair grader
Cons: Class can get dry with some topics, but he himself admits that and does the best he can keeping your attention
One of the most interesting classes I've taken thus far. All of his stories are very interesting, and he loves getting questions about graduate school (we spent two classes on Q&A of grad school actually). He is a fun guy to talk to and very helpful when having issues with material. The exams can be tricky, but if you pay attention and go to class you should be fine - use last years exam to help you study! Dr. Riley is one of those people who you need to know especially if you want to go to grad school - he knows the majority of contacts over on the west coast. The class was fun - you don't need to buy the course pack - just the little books!

At first he seems pretty arogant and self-righteous, but I learned to love this class. His stroies are awesome and usually gets you off about half of his planned lectures. He's very passionate about what he does and wants you to learn and contribute to the profession. Go to class, skim the text, and read the goofy books and you'll do fine

not boring and it is really easy to get riley to tell stories b/c he really likes to talk about himself and his experiences which can come off as him being kind of full of himself but most of his stories are pretty interesting for ex: throwing snowballs at a mountain lion in a tree on ted turners ranch. go to class and you should be ok.
