Diagnostic/Mammo Technologist - FT Days
This position is offering a $15,000 signing bonus for external candidates!
Position Summary: Operates x‐ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body. In addition, will be responsible for the performance of mammography studies requiring independent judgment, extended knowledge and expertise to apply ionizing radiation for radiologic purposes.
Education, License & Cert: Completion of a normal radiologic technology training program in an AMA approved school (two years) with certification. Must be a registered technologist ARRT. Must also be licensed in the state of NY if performing location is a NY Regional Office Site. Certification required, ARRT (M)‐mammography certified within two (2) years of employment.
Experience: Prefer six months to one‐year experience.
Essential Functions: 1. Performs diagnostic radiologic procedures and/or mammographic procedures. 2. Proficient in‐patient care activities as related to radiology and/or mammography. 3. Knowledgeable in the correct use of the Radiology Information Systems, scheduling, tracking, completion, down‐time procedures. 4. Performs as a part of the radiology team to insure excellence, teamwork, and patient centeredness. 5. Provides for patient’s modesty, comfort and privacy. 6. Demonstrates willingness to accept non‐routine work assignments, as appropriate.
Other Duties: 1. Ensures images and records are properly completed with appropriate information such as patient name, B#, technical factors used, etc. 2. Maintains clean work area and properly supplied. 3. Must have ability to react quickly to emergency situations such as patient fainting, patient being unsteady while standing for procedures, if unsafe situation occurs (such as fire), getting the patient to safety and sounding alarm.
