Pros: Fairly interesting class.
Funny guy.
Cons: HARD exams
HARD quizes
As a business student, I was required to take two sciences, and this was one of them. As far as science courses go, it could have been a lot worse. I am seeing extreme variances in the ratings for Lim, and I am falling somewhere in the middle. Yes his class was ridiculously difficult with tests and labs consisting of some mind-boggling questions for a business student like myself, but he curved the hell out of everything. The first day of class he even said that this 151 course was geared towards individuals who were NOT skilled in sciences. It still ended up being hard and I ended up with a B which makes zero sense since I failed all the exams lol.
I don't know how the other professors are for 151 so I would suggest Lim you come across an easier professor.

Yes, this class has a lot of freebie points. A lot of what other people have said is true: the in-class quizzes are easy, you get points for the labs, there's some extra credit.
Having said that, you will not learn much of anything. He talks about what he thinks are interesting examples throughout the lectures, then none of that knowledge will be relevant at all to the midterm or exam. Tests are extremely hard because his Powerpoints are unclear, formulas don't have defined terms, and most of it will be new knowledge anyway. His multiple choices have options A-B-C-D-E-F-G sometimes, so don't count on having 25% odds of getting a question correct. He will also make sure to include unnecessary numbers in the problems, with corresponding wrong answers as options. Then there are times where, if you've solved the problem on paper, he's made the answer "none of the above" so you don't know if you're actually right or not. The tests are full of mind games like that.
Overall, I would not recommend this professor. If there is someone else, take someone else. I don't regret taking Physics over Chemistry, but a better professor would've made a big difference for this class.

Pros: If you treat his lectures like a comedy show, you'll enjoy them.
Cons: Terribly boring lectures.
Funny accent.
He is a mad scientist.
TK is one of the strangest professor's Ive ever had, and he is not very interesting either. He will literally barrel through the lecture, and I doubt he would stop lecturing even if a nuclear war was going on outside. His accent is humorous to say the least, and he is obsessed with his pop quizzes. The grading system for his class makes it very easy for you to pass, which is good considering it is a science class for business majors who don't give a damn about it. Overall, you will be fine in his class, but If you like chem and bio better- take those instead.

Pros: two question "pop quiz" are easy. the answers can usually be found online or by just listening to the lecture the day of the quiz
lets you out 10 minutes early each 50 minute lecture
lab homework is relatively easy
labs take the whole time
Cons: 1 midterm, 1 final. EXAMS ARE HARD.
miss your exam by accident? expect a lecture from him about how much you suck
lab homework every week
don't take this class if there's another professor. like obviously his grading may not be too bad, but his exams are a lot harder than his review sheets. he can be a dick
oh but his extra credit isn't too bad. he gives two out

I'm surprised at how bitter some of the reviewers are. Physics is an incredibly difficult subject to teach, and Dr. Lim does his best at it. He is so enthusiastic about the course, and tries so hard to make the material accessible and understandable for "science-illiterate" business majors.
The class is easy enough. He gives "pop quizzes" at each lecture. They are simple two-question multiple-choice quizzes, which you are encouraged to work with your classmates on. These are meant to be easy grade boosters. The material is simplified to the bare minimum, and exams are near exact replicas of homework sets and review sheets. If you have a pulse, and do your work, and take the time to ask questions, you will pass this class easily.
That said, Dr. Lim may not be the best physics professor if you have never taken a high school physics class. He can be a little difficult to understand- not because of his accent, but because in "dumbing down" the course materials, he makes some of the concepts unfortunately vague. Again, if you have trouble, this is easily remedied by asking questions- ask Dr. Lim, ask your TA, ask your classmates. You have to be proactive in this class.

Pros: He doesnt teach the recitation just the lectures. I got lucky and had a goo T.A. he offered a good amount of extra credit because he realized people failed tests.
Cons: Hard to understand at times. Tests suck more than imaginable. I got a 7 out of 15 on the midterm and had the highest test grade in my lab. He puts harder info on the test then he displays in class. There is a quiz every lecture. He takes attendance every class and he takes off a lot of points if you miss any. Buddy missed 4 classes and had 4 course points taken off.
Overall, do not take if avoidable. Really Nice guy but not that nice of a teacher. I will probably get a B or B+ but feel I would have had an A or A+ with any other teacher.

I am surprised to see his rating because in fact, i have quite a lot of fun in this class.
He gives you quiz at the end of every lecture to check ur knowledge and attendance. But as long as you skip no more than 4 or 5 classes, it would not affect ur grade. Group project is super easy. And homework is due every week but i didnt spend more than 30 minutes doing each one.
Just pay attention in class, and you should get an A.

He teaches the material to you as if you were four years old. It seems easy. You go to the first midterm and all the sudden you need to have a college level working knowledge of physics! The class is not horribly difficult. I just can't stand doing dumb and easy problems for 6 weeks, then I'm expected to wake up at 8am and magically be able to do problems for which ZERO class notes, examples, homework questions, or pop quiz questions exist.
I'm sure the stellar physics department at Drexel spends countless hours racking their brains trying to find the reason this class has to have such a huge curve. I bet they blame the curve on poor students. The reality is that Professor Lim couldnt teach people to breathe...That is unless he repeatedly showed you the easiest and most natural way to breathe, and then when it came time for the breathing test he would shove a sock in your throat and submerge your head in water. Once you fail the breathing test and die he will blame you for not doing what he taught you.

This guy is a piece of shit. His lectures suck and he does dumb demonstrations like drop marbles to the floor and show gravity. Then his test questions, homework questions, and quiz questions are so difficult and cover things that we never learned in class. The text book is useless becuase it gives examples like the ones in class and doesnt cover any of the math. Basically he does not teach you how to solve any problems but expects you to know how to solve them. The lab assignments are rediculous too becuase they are so long and tedious. I wish i took chem. This guy is a major tool bag piece of shit and he isnt worth the money I paid to go to this school. Go back to the fucking hole you crawled out of Dr. Lim, your an asshole. ...........................other people feel the same way I do because he has a 2 star rating and 46 people seem to agree with me. FUCK LIM

Physics isn't the easiest subject, but Professor Lim made it interesting. Yeah he plays with toys, but it helps with understanding concepts. There are quizzes every lecture, which forces you to actually come to lecture and a midterm and a final. Lab is a joke, its every other week and you do simple experiments. The curve was ridiculous, a 68 was an A I think. If you're up to the challenge to learn about physics, and actually put in the time..you'll actually do well. There is also extra-credit, although you kind of have to do it to do well. Overall, I think he's a good teacher.

Got an A+ in the class, but i think the class was a waste of time. Had no choice but to take it with Lim as he is the only one. Takes his job way too seriously and expects business majors to do the same in his class. First off more than half the class is snoozed off because its 9am and here we go with forces and motions.
Secondly, the syllabus is a manuscript with pages of useless information further proving his seriousness about the course.
Thirdly, i must say he is trying his best to make the class interesting by his "in-class" demonstrations of how a mini hummer rolls away from the counter top and the distance it covered and the force of gravity acting on it. (at 9 am sharp)

1. 3 credit course? Think again...lim gives 7 "2 hour" lab periods.
2. attendance is required via daily graded pop quizzes
3. homework is due at the end of every class
4. he tests on how well you understand the QUESTION, not the actual material/concepts.
however on the bright side, he is a great lecturer, if you can stay awake for the material that is.
Honestly it was the hardest elective I've ever had to take. I got an A+ in the course, so obviously you can pull off a good grade if your willing to put in the time, but honestly I'm paying to learn about business and the workload just turned me off to physics in general.

I never took a physics class before and was kinda nervous. Everything seemed to somewhat make sense in lecture but his questions always stumped me. I somehow managed to do great on the first midterm but I must have bombed the final cause I got a C. Whatever I'm done with science forever. He seems nice though but eh. Screw physics. Its lame.
Oh and the labs are a complete joke. I felt dumber for having gone to them but they're mandatory. I remember my group didn't even do the project. We kind of just talked about nothing and still got full credit.

DO NOT TAKE LIM AT ALL COST
this guy makes you feel like the class is going be enjoyable and fun but throughout the course you find out is the total opposite. He tricks you on the test, saying that is very easy to get a B when in reality the average is below a C. He pretty much treats Business Majors like Engineers , assuming we all love physics. He makes dumbed down subjects pretty confusing and expects you to grasp every single subject
Overall he is a horrible professor, he definitely needs to work on his communication skills and also to stop treating everyone like were majoring in physics

His lectures would lead you to believe that the exams are going to be just as easy. However, that is not the case at all. The tests try to trick you every chance he gets, and the average winds up being around a 60. the only redeeming factor is that they only count about 40% of the grade - the rest is labs and stuff like that. it works out that you only have to get an 83 out of 110 for the entire course to get an A. Dont ask me how he comes up with that number.
In conclusion, its very easy and possible to get a B, or perhaps even an A, but if you want to learn something, dont take Dr. Lim.

He realizes that everyone who is taking this class is a business student who is only taking the course because it is required. Having said that he expects you to learn something about physics. His grading is most advantageous to students. The labs are also not too difficult just read them before your lab session and you should be fine. Getting a B in this course is definitely attainable. Even though the course is required I did enjoy it and suggest that you make the best of it and try to learn. All he asks is that you try and you will do just fine if you do try.

Physics is downright nerd material but somehow this guy teaches the subject with enthusiasm. It's a shame that business students are forced to take the class because those interested in science would probably benefit from a professor such as Lim. However, Lim fails to recognize that as non-technical majors, we do not have the necessary background to excel at physics and need just a brief overview of physics. His tests are very hard. His lectures are a bit too extemporaneous and the powerpoint slides cram too much information on one slide and are disorganized. The labs are just a waste of time and should be optional.

C'mon guys, the teacher is doing a decent job considering the subject he is teaching. He has an accent but his English is perfectly understandable. 83 out of 110 is an A, 75 is a B. Bottom line is, if you go to lecture and do the experiments you will end up with at least a B even if you bomb the exams! And don't confuse don't like Physics with don't like Dr. Lim; the guy is doing his best to make the material interesting.

This class was a pain in the a$$. A complete waste of my time. He gives you "pop" quizes at the start of every class, and if you don't hand it to him physically, he won't take it. That's how he does attendance. And then he tells you that you don't need the book, but all the TA's go over problems in the book and yell at you when you didn't do them. Only positive thing is that all the notes he emails to you in the form of powerpoint presentations you need to print out. I wouldn't take this guy again unless it was my only choice, and even then I'd think twice.
