Pros: treats students with respect and wants to see students do well in exams
Cons: did not explain well on the the concepts of compounded interest rate
This was the strangest college math class ever existed. It starts from Algebra II, then it goes into finance (covers a big part of FIN301), then an introduction of linear algebra. If you transfer out, this class combined with math102 (applied calculus) will only transfer as some kind of remedial math. Most colleges require everyone to take at least one calculus, so you'd have to retake precal and calculus. Professional schools such as MBA programs will also have you make up the calculus sequence because they consider the 101/102 sequence not adequate prep for finance classes. If you are thinking about grad school in bio or finance or anything that could potentially require any bit of quantitative skills, save the trouble and take calculus instead.

Pros: Great professor, really knows his stuff. No homework problems needed, his packets for the chapters do just fine, and include plenty of material to get you by. Exams are tough but he doesn't create them but he grades fairly on quizzes
Cons: Math just sucks in general, nothing he can do about it though.

Uses real life examples to relate to the topic
Cons: Makes mistakes a lot in class
Not an awful math teacher, but sometimes his mistakes make the class confusing, because he tells us incorrect information.

The class is what you make of it. Mr. Kingsbury is extremely intelligent and always emphasizes his office hours for extra help. He hands out packets from each section which are not required, however, are very helpul and are always on the quizes. For exams, he hands out multiple review packets and goes over them in class. Overall, I found Mr. Kingsbury to be a great teacher.

Pros: Really great teacher, he brought his guitar in to sing us a song, and has really creative ways of helping us learn through visual aid and real world examples even if it is stupid math 102.
Cons: not really any cons but he has a monotonous voice, but you can't blame the guy, he's teaching math 102 for gods sake.

This class was going to be boring no matter who taught it, but Kingsbury's teaching style just didn't do it for me. He read the notes and homework problems straight off of his paper without offering any real explanations, it was very dry and clinical. Homework is online and due every week, there are the usual 2 midterms and a final, and 6 quizzes throughout the term. Good things about taking Kingsbury are: he is very quick about grading and returning assignments to students/posting grades online, and he prints out the required problems so you don't really need the book, just the online access code. There was also a day where he brought in a guitar and we had a "musical review" for a midterm...entertaining, but didn't really help with studying the material for the test.

Kingsbury knows his stuff. I went to him before class on quiz days and he was very helpful. Attendance is a must. Workload is medium. The class is boring but if you do the online homework you can get through it.

Yeah, you have to go to class, but homework is not required and he explains concepts thoroughly with plenty of examples. His office hours were the best cause he know's what he's talking about and is really patient.

Absolutely horrible. Doesn't grade fair or give you credit for any problems. Added all my exam grades up wrong. Took off points on my exams for no reason. Even if you have the right answer, he will mark it wrong if you do not put all your work. I once asked him why my problem on the exam was wrong and he got frustrated with me so he threw the exam back at me. HATE HIM!
WORST TEACHER EVER. NEVER TAKE
Should take his guitar and horrible playing and never come back to Drexel ever again.

He is the best Math professor. People always have a very wrong opinion about him. He is an extremely easy grader. He plays the guitar extremely well. I had him for both Math 101 and 102. I would surely take him again if he is taking another course.

The man is not remotely comfortable in front of a classroom full of kids. Constantly makes mistakes on course materials. Typically, he'll spend half an hour going over an exam question only to get it wrong in the end. Avoid at all costs.

He's a horrible teacher, doesn't even know what he is doing most of the time and he expects his students to know what to do for him. The students do most of the explaining.
