There is a lab practical
Cons: The grade is based only on your exams and lab exam.
Nice teacher. This course is all about O-chem. Remember the main materials and this will not be the hard course for you.
Naming and drawing on exam is easy
Book helps alot if you dont understand something
Tons of tutoring sessions available
There for you if you need help
Cons: Multiple choice on exams are really hard and worth a lot of points
Cons: Teaches things in class you will never see on the exam.
If you go to recitation and sign in and put in the work she will boost your grade at the end. Her grading scale is already curved to begin with but she definitely helps out the students who put in effort at the end. She is a fair teacher who realizes this information isn't something we will technically need in the future.
Simple Labs
online homeworks
Cons: zero professor interaction
pre-recorded lectures are awful
I took this class online and the curriculum is a joke. If you have any interest in Chemistry I suggest taking general chemistry. the midterm had questions a middle school student would know such as conversion between L to mL, mole calculation, and a myriad of other simple topics. The online lectures are terrible, long, and dry. I learned the new material by doing the hoe works and teaching myself from the book. the instructor basically was not present whatsoever, with zero original content posted. the labs are also pathetically easy and take an average of 45 min. terrible class, easy A
Cons: None
This class as a whole is very easy as long you study the notes. The material doesn't change at all from year to year so if you find someone that has Solomon's notes, those work just as well for studying for the exams.
Recitation's are a waste of time, the questions were incredibly easy so you don't have to go to them. Labs are every week but they are easy to perform and you only have to answer a few questions after your done them. You don't even have to go to lecture if you don't want to but I would advise going anyway.
Even if this class isn't required, I'd still advise taking this after you have taken 101 and 102. Here's why: its the easiest 5 credits you will probably ever earn (GPA Booster), you can make it an elective, and it is a VERY good intro into orgo, trust me!

LOTS of visual experiments in class
After my last chemistry classes, professor Rutkowsky was a very nice change. Her lectures were entertaining, easy to follow, and helpful. I would recommend coming to class because she explains everything very well and answers questions if you have trouble with something, not to mention her cool experiments that went with every lecture to show us the "chemistry" of her lecture.
- Can take a note sheet to the exam
- Extremely kind
- Willing to help out and answer questions
Cons: - Chem is hard
I had professor Rutkowsky as my lab instructor as well as the facilitator for my online lecture. I took Chem 151 Summer term and honestly it was the easiest chem class I've taken. In high school I just didn't get chemistry but I found this class interesting and the exams were easy to moderate. She allows a note sheet to take to the exams which really helps and the labs are really easy.
Cons: Sometimes her lectures move too slowly and are a bit boring.
If you study her notes a lot you will get an A. The exams literally come from her lecture notes.
Cons: Her lectures got kind of boring at times because she talked so softly
Chemistry is definitely a weed out course for Drexel. I mean if you get 3 problems wrong on the test, you are already at a B. Make sure you study for the tests or you will fail. That is the truth.
You would think Chemistry is hard, but surprisingly I found this to be 110 times easier than high school chemistry. Susan helped out everyone with all the labs, and was more than generous with the grading, not to mention the curve in the end helped out bigtime.
