Cons: Cant understand him
Attendance is mandatory
Class is unbelievably boring
He is the worst professors that I have had at Drexel. He clearly uses notes that he created in the 80's with a few updates. DONT buy the text book, he gives you a 92 page word document that he goes through in class. That is all he does, just goes over the information he gave you already. Class is a complete drag but attendance is factored into your grade. But don't worry, his exams are worth 80% of your grade and are open note so is practically impossible to fail his class. I will never take one of his classes again.
The midterm is a take home exam
Cons: Hard to understand his accent at times. He talks fast and writes on the white board fast too. You need to pay attention if you expect to pass this class. His final exam is hard and is usually five questions that have 5 - 8 questions within a question. The biggest problem with this type of exam is if you get the first part of the question wrong this will determine the outcome of the rest of the answers which will also be wrong.
His final exam is 50% of your grade for this class. No room for error!
He does not tell you exactly what is on the exam either. So you have plenty of concepts to study.
He will not let you take the final home, but it is open book.
I rented my book but he does not use it. Don't waste your money. He emails all students his condensed power point notes for class in the beginning of the semester. I believe we cover about 9 chapters that amount to 115 - 120 pages.
Overall, a great and knowledgeable professor. If you love economics, you will love him and score well in his class. I just competed my final last night so I don't know what my final overall grade is for his class. I am very hopeful that I scored great.
The professor also gives out a project in week three or four I believe and he requires you to join with another student and work as a team. The project requires you to complete Regression Analysis using Excel spreadsheets based on the information he provides in his syllabus as well as answer questions based on the regression results.
Good luck if you are taking this class. Study hard and you should attain a good grade.
fair exam
very flexible with office hours and meeting
great with responding to e-mail
very knowledgeable
helpful
caring
this list can go on
Cons: none
I mean he teaches Econ. You either love this subject or you don't. Things can get tough. But if you're self motivated, this guy will get you where you want to go. Amazing professor!
Don't give a sh*t about other comments, he is horrible
Exams are open notes, laptop, book but it is NOT something you can just google. You will have to study hardcore beforehand to get an A
Cons: You will not be able to understand a single word he says. He has a thick and soft accent that will make you fall asleep every class.
He repeats the most simple things to us like we are dumb and the more complicated things he just flies through
His lecture notes are extremely difficult to understand
DO NOT TAKE HIM
Very attentive, approachable to student needs
Cons: I don' know if its because its not his native language, but the style the notes is written in is kinda hard to dig through. everything you need to get an A are in the notes, its just digging through all he superfluous stuff that makes it tedious
Talks quietly, draws a lot, kinda boring at times. Otherwise, I loved his class. Open-note exams are a nice bonus too.
Cons: He tends to write all over the white board which can be confusing if you are not paying attention, so just pay attention :)
One of the best professors Drexel has!
No textbook
SUCH a nice professor, quite amusing during lecture and always willing to help!
Open book/note exams
Cons: Talks in circles sometimes
Not the most interesting subject
I loved Hammoudeh. He's super nice and a really caring professor. The material wasn't too rough, takes some understanding and memorizing of terms. The most math you need to understand is the slope of a line, but even he explains that... again and again. Can be a little boring as he overlaps lectures and repeats himself, but you can have your laptop open in class, so just remember to start paying attention when he goes over the new stuff.
Homework due every week, graded, but is very helpful in understanding the material.
No textbook, but instead a large text document of material, which he goes through in lecture.
Final grade is half midterm, half final exam, with a little in class participation/attendance and homework.
Open book/note exams, though you'll still want to study a bit beforehand as they are very concept-heavy.
Cons: hard tests but they are open book tests but you need to know the concept and study well to get an A
The class consist of 11 chapters were they are divided into 6 moderate assignments and two test (mid-term and Final) also five percent is on attendance where you need to show up and get your laptop so you could use it if you become bored. He teaches well and the exams are pretty hard because he is going to ask you about concepts so he could know that you know the subject or not. you should get nearly over 90 % as overall grade so you can get an A!!
In my situation I did my homework and got 87 out 100 in the mid-term (average 83, most student got over 90) then I did well on my final and GOT AN ((A))!!!
At the end, I really recommend him for econ 201, Goodluck!
A very short and easy econ concentration class. Definately recommend this class, as well as him as a teacher!
